We use the Google reCAPTCHA on our consumer sign in page to help protect our site from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA works by collecting hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sending this data to Google for analysis. reCAPTCHA also uses the Google NID cookie which most Google users will have stored in their browser. The NID cookie contains a unique ID that Google uses to remember preferences and other information, such including preferred language, how many search results you wish to have shown per page, and whether or not Google's SafeSearch filter is turned on.
